It would be my privilege to help you celebrate the life of your loved one and say goodbye as they go on their final journey – I understand what a sad and difficult time this is for you and your family and getting this ceremony ‘right’ can be the beginning of coming to terms with your loss.
Not only are you dealing with shock and grief but you have to work your way through all the details of organising the funeral usually within very tight timescales.
I will arrange a face-to-face visit with you at a location of your choice - at your home, the funeral directors or a local venue and I will speak with you about your loved one and the way you want to say goodbye and celebrate their life with dignity and gratitude.
I will write a tribute to them (a eulogy) and a service script to be delivered on the day by me that reflects the personality of your loved one and that is meaningful and memorable for everyone attending. It can be hard to find the right words to honour a life well-lived and the funeral can be a time to reflect on that life well lived, celebrate successes, achievements and remember happy times. I can help you find the right words and guide you through one of the most difficult times of saying farewell.
I can also provide you with a selection of appropriate readings, poems and music choices for funeral services that can be beautiful, emotional, traditional, modern and funny. I can also include bible readings and hymns if that is wished for. I am not a member of the clergy or affiliated to any particular religion but I can include any aspect of religious reading or hymns you and the family may want.
You will have input as to what will be included in the tribute and service and I will respect at all times you and your family’s wishes to be involved. Particular members of the family or close friends may wish to give a reading or offer an important memory and I will be there to support them to achieve this. I will be privileged to lead the funeral service with respect and care for all those attending and the memory of your loved one.
A civil funeral is a ceremony that is based on the wishes and beliefs of yourself, your loved one and their family. It is a unique and personal celebration of their life, allowing family and friends to pay tribute to a life lived and find comfort for the future without them.
The ceremony can take place at a crematorium or non-religious burial site but other locations can be chosen such as an outdoor location, a location that has been meaningful to the deceased or at their home.
